Q: Aren't you East Lake Little League?
A: For several years, East Lake Diamond Sports operated under East Lake Little League. We will now be operating under a new name with a new organization, Cal Ripken.
Q: What does that mean for my family? Will it be different?
A: Actually, not much will change for you! Some of the rules on the field may be diffeernt and eligability dates will shift, but you will still get the same community involvement, tons of fun and make memories and friends to last a lifetime! The area we will serve for families to join will expand as well!
Q: The area will expand? What does that mean?
A: As East Lake Little League, we served a very small area in East Lake and Palm Harbor. Under Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth, we are able to have families join our organziation as far North as Trinity, all the way to Gulf on our West side, South to Highway 60 and East to Oldsmar and Safety Harbor. If you live in area that is not a designated Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth league, there may still be an opportunity!
Q: What is Cal Ripken and Babe Ruth?
A: The mission statement of the organization is: The Babe Ruth Baseball/Softball program, using regulation competitive baseball and softball rules, teaches skills, mental and physical development, a respect for the rules of the game, and basic ideals of sportsmanship and fair play. In all aspects, Babe Ruth League, Inc. is committed to providing our participants the very best educational, sports experience possible. It is our fundamental belief that every child with a desire to play baseball or softball be afforded that opportunity.
Q: Are you still a non-profit organization?
A: Yes, we are still a non-profit organziation.
Q: Can I volunteer?
A: Absolutely! Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information!
Q: What seasons do you play?
A: We offer both Fall and Spring ball! Fall typically begins in September and Spring around February, with registration and tryouts the months before.
